Celebrate the Feast of St. John the Baptist with a Bonfire Cake

- Red, orange, and yellow hard candies (like Jolly Ranchers or LifeSavers)
Instructions:
Frost the cake with the chocolate frosting, creating a smooth, even surface.
Break the rolled wafer cookies into various lengths to create the "logs" of the bonfire. Arrange them on top of the cake, leaning them against each other to create a realistic-looking pile of firewood.
Take the hard candies and place them in a plastic bag. Use a kitchen mallet or rolling pin to gently smash the candies into jagged, irregular pieces. You want to create a variety of sizes and shapes to mimic the look of flames.
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spread the crushed candy pieces in a single layer.
Bake the candy for 5-7 minutes, or until the pieces have melted and blended together. Be very careful, as the melted candy will be extremely hot.
Remove the baking sheet from the oven and allow the candy to cool completely. Once cooled, use your hands to break the sheet of candy into even more jagged, irregular pieces.
Carefully place the candy "flames" around and on top of the cookie "logs" on the cake, creating a realistic-looking bonfire.
